As part of AGRA 2025, a special meeting was organised by SRIP Hrana – Slovenia’s long-term Strategic Research and Innovation Partnership for Sustainable Food Production. Over the years, SRIP Hrana has developed into a vibrant community bringing together farms, companies, cooperatives, research institutions, investors, and other stakeholders, all united by a common goal: strengthening the agri-food sector through research, innovation, and collaboration.

The working group builds on the Smart Specialisation Strategy (S5), Slovenia’s operational plan for achieving a high-productivity economy through innovation, structural transformation, industrial diversification, and the growth of dynamic new companies. Within this framework, nine Strategic Research and Innovation Partnerships (SRIPs) have been established, with SRIP Hrana dedicated to sustainable food production.

The meeting was particularly relevant for the Food4CE project, as it provided valuable insights into current research and policy challenges in sustainable food systems, while also opening perspectives on future funding opportunities.

Discussions further explored circular business models in agriculture, capacity building for a sustainable agri-food sector, and the definition of clear goals and indicators for SRIP Hrana’s future work.

The event also offered an excellent opportunity to promote the Food4CE Matchmaking and Knowledge Transfer Platform, designed to strengthen collaboration and support innovation across the agri-food sector.
