The City of Nichelino is carrying out a pilot study within the CICADA4CE project to address the spread of invasive alien plant species and to promote local biodiversity. The initiative focuses on Parco del Boschetto, a green area that has been selected as a testing ground for both technological and ecological measures.

The first steps of the project include the installation and monitoring of sensors to collect data on air quality and temperature. These measurements will provide valuable insights into the environmental conditions of the park and support future management actions.

In the coming months, activities will expand to include a census of the plant species present in the pilot area, targeted interventions to contain invasive alien species, and the planting of carefully selected native species. These efforts aim to restore ecological balance and protect the park’s biodiversity, creating a healthier and more resilient environment for both nature and the community.
