H2CE partners held their fifth face-to-face meeting in Gdańsk on 17–18 June 2025. The Office of the Marshal of the Pomorskie Voivodeship hosted the event.
The meeting combined project coordination with technical exchange and practical insight into hydrogen technology.
Main result
Partners worked on the final structure of the H2CE Collaboration Platform, which was designed to bring together:
- regional hydrogen guidelines;
- good practices;
- regional strategies and action plans;
- GIS and energy-modelling resources;
- capacity-building materials; and
- opportunities for continued stakeholder cooperation.
The discussions helped transform the platform from a general concept into a structured digital environment for regional planners and energy stakeholders.
Review of project outputs
Partners also reviewed progress on key deliverables and coordinated the remaining work required to:
- complete regional planning resources;
- assess pilot results;
- connect individual tools within the platform;
- strengthen transferability to other regions; and
- prepare the project’s final implementation phase.
Study visit to EXION HYDROGEN
The meeting included a visit to the headquarters and production site of EXION HYDROGEN Polskie Elektrolizery in Gdańsk.
The company presented:
- its work on industrial electrolysers;
- the transition from research and development to industrial production;
- the role of electrolysis in renewable-hydrogen production; and
- potential applications in industrial transformation and wider energy systems.
Practical value
The meeting connected H2CE’s strategic planning work with the technical realities of hydrogen production.
It demonstrated that public authorities needed to understand both territorial requirements and the maturity, availability and operating conditions of relevant technologies. The completed platform structure helped make this combined strategic and technical knowledge accessible beyond the project partnership.
