Summer Camp 2025 – Active Youth Involvement – Eger

From July 29 to 31, 2025, the Carpathian Civil Society Platform hosted Summer Camp 2025 – Active Youth Involvement in the beautiful city of Eger (Hungary). This three-day international event gathered youth leaders, civil society representatives, and experts from across the Carpathian region to collaborate, learn, and shape the future of regional cooperation.

🔹 July 29 The event began with an opening dinner, fostering intergenerational dialogue and informal networking between young participants and experienced civil society actors.

🔹 July 30 – Main Conference Day Focused on active youth participation, this day featured:

  • Interactive workshops and networking sessions
  • Presentations by youth organizations and cross-border initiatives
  • An online keynote speech by Nicolae Ștefănuță, Vice-President of the European Parliament
  • The Carpathian Civil Innovation Award Ceremony, recognizing impactful initiatives in the region
  • Information sessions on funding opportunities, including the International Visegrad Fund and the Carpathian Foundation’s upcoming Mini-Grant Program

The day was marked by lively discussions, inspiring ideas, and a strong sense of regional solidarity.

🔹 July 31 – Looking to the Future The final day opened with a roundtable on the Youth Bank model, featuring examples from Slovakia, Hungary, and Romania, and practical strategies for implementation. This was followed by a panel on the state of civil society in Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Ukraine, addressing shared challenges and opportunities. The conference closed with a plenary session on the future of the Carpathian Civil Society Platform, including its structure, opportunities for involvement, and promotion of the Carpathian Regional Leadership Academy (CARLA).

The event concluded with a shared commitment to regional cooperation, youth empowerment, and sustainable support for civil society across the Carpathian region.
