We are pleased to announce the completion of the next stages of the investment at one of the pilot sites within the MAURICE project in Jaworzno.

The implemented infrastructure includes:

  • Terraced platforms featuring four distinct research areas equipped with an advanced measurement system. Each area is designed to investigate different infiltration characteristics to support optimization of water absorption in diverse soil and landscape conditions.

  • A rain garden, serving as a nature-based solution for buffering, retention, and treatment of excess stormwater runoff, also integrated with a measurement system to enable continuous performance monitoring.

Beyond their technical functionality, these installations serve an important educational and demonstrational role. They provide valuable insights for researchers, students, local authorities, and stakeholders, facilitating knowledge transfer on sustainable water management practices, climate adaptation strategies, and enhancement of urban resilience.

This pilot initiative contributes to the broader objectives of the MAURICE project by promoting the development and implementation of green infrastructure solutions that improve ecosystem services, mitigate flood risks, and support sustainable urban development.
