Vienna will become the meeting point for more than 200 champions of cooperation from across Central Europe. Under the banner “From Results to Impact: Cooperation Takes Synergies Forward,” Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE invites you to explore how past achievements can spark even greater regional transformation.
This one-day conference kicks off with an opening address by Christiane Breznik, Head of the Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE Managing Authority, alongside Stella Arneri of Croatia’s Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds. Together, they’ll set the scene on why our regions, our challenges, and our future are inextricably linked, and how Interreg’s journey from delivering project outputs to generating real-world impact is only just beginning.
Next, Furio Honsell—a mathematician-turned-politician who has driven cross-border cooperation as Regional Councilor of Friuli Venezia Giulia and former Mayor of Udine—will deliver the keynote on “Building Resilience Through Cooperation.” His insights will lead straight into a high-level panel debate featuring policymakers and practitioners from the European Commission, national ministries, and local authorities across Poland, Germany, Austria, and the UK. Expect a lively discussion on how synergies among projects can deliver positive change for cities and rural areas alike.
After a coffee break, the lively “PowerPoint Karaoke” from the previous evening’s networking reception will continue as audience favorites compete for awards before the livestream cuts off. Then Luca Ferrarese, Head of the Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE Joint Secretariat, will unveil the main features of the upcoming autumn 2025 strategic call. Focused squarely on capitalisation, this call will enable you to scale up existing results, build stronger functional linkages, and tackle shared challenges—whether that means boosting climate-neutral energy, fostering circular economies, or greening urban mobility.
Following a networking lunch, the afternoon splits into two parallel strands. In “Working Towards Synergies: Your Results in Action,” project partners will pitch their outputs in thematic workshops covering innovation, smart skills, climate resilience, governance, rural transport, and more. This is your chance to seed new project ideas and find collaborators for the capitalisation call.
Meanwhile, “Cooperation in Action: Building Impact Through Capitalisation” offers a space for programme authorities and policymakers—hosted by Interact—to dive deeply into best practices for embedding project results into long-term strategies. Through interactive peer exchanges, you’ll learn how to move beyond mere dissemination and truly integrate successful approaches into regional programmes.
