Green Lessons Start Early: Awareness-Raising with Warsaw’s Youngest Citizens

Date: 31.01.2025

The city of Warsaw, through Zarząd Dróg Miejskich Warszawa, hosted its second awareness-raising event under the GreenScape CE project. This initiative focused on engaging young children, particularly kindergarteners around six years old, to build early awareness about the role of Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) and Green Infrastructure (GI) in urban settings. During the event, children learned how everyone, regardless of age, can contribute to greener cities through small, meaningful actions inspired by our DIY Guide. One of the most engaging activities included planting daffodils and hyacinths together—giving each child the opportunity to connect with nature and bring a small plant home. This hands-on, educational experience served as a gentle yet impactful way to foster environmental stewardship from an early age. We thank our partner, the city of Warsaw, for leading this creative and inspiring initiative.
