In July 2024, Unioncamere del Veneto met representatives of the H2MA and HyEFre projects to identify links with H2CE and strengthen cooperation between hydrogen initiatives funded by Interreg programmes.
Cooperation with H2MA
H2MA focused on integrated hydrogen-mobility solutions and transnational infrastructure for freight and passenger transport.
The exchange with project partner Codognotto covered its work on a hydrogen-mobility masterplan for the Vienna area. This regional plan formed part of a wider approach covering the Alpine Space.
The discussion showed how regional hydrogen strategies could be connected with:
- freight and passenger transport;
- urban mobility planning;
- hydrogen refuelling infrastructure; and
- cross-border transport corridors.
Cooperation with HyEFre
HyEFre worked on green-hydrogen ecosystems by improving conditions for investment in renewable energy and hydrogen technologies.
The exchange with WeEurope focused on regulatory barriers, investment conditions and the expansion of renewable-energy and green-hydrogen infrastructure.
Shared lessons
The three projects addressed different but complementary aspects of hydrogen development:
- H2CE: regional planning, public-authority capacity and decision-support tools;
- H2MA: hydrogen mobility and transport infrastructure;
- HyEFre: investment ecosystems and regulatory barriers.
Their cooperation demonstrated that regional hydrogen development benefited from coordinated policy monitoring, shared information and links between planning, mobility, infrastructure and investment activities.
The meetings also showed that cooperation between related projects could reduce duplication and help businesses and public authorities identify relevant funding, policies and transferable solutions.
