What should transnational cooperation look like after 2027? A new ESPON analysis provides fresh territorial evidence to support this discussion.
Through the TNCOOP project, ESPON has published analytical papers for all 13 Interreg transnational programme areas, including Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE, as well as an overall analysis of transnational Interreg cooperation.
The papers look at territorial development trends, cooperation patterns, synergies, governance structures and recommendations for the 2028-34 funding period. They help programme authorities and stakeholders better understand where transnational cooperation can create added value in the future.
For Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE, the dedicated territorial analysis explores key trends and challenges across the programme area, including demography, innovation, environment, connectivity, regional development, tourism, housing and citizen engagement. It also looks at cooperation patterns and opportunities to strengthen the programme’s impact in the years ahead.
In addition to the papers, the TNCOOP project offers an online data portal with maps and visual outputs. These make territorial evidence easier to explore, compare and use when reflecting on future cooperation needs.
Explore the ESPON analysis and discover what the data tells us about the needs, opportunities and future perspectives of transnational cooperation in central Europe. To learn more about how Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE is preparing for the next programming period, visit our dedicated page.
