Within the framework of the NiCE project, the BME Department of Environmental Economics and Sustainability is working together with the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (ENEA) to develop solutions that help consumers integrate circular economy principles into their everyday lives.

The peer review of the BME pilot action was conducted by Emanuela De Marco, a researcher from the Department of Sustainability (SSPT), Section Integrated and Nature-based Solutions for Urban Regeneration at ENEA. The review took place at the BME Department of Environmental Economics and Sustainability in Budapest from March 10 to 12, 2025. During the visit, the Emanuela met the core project team and university students, as well as visited pilot action partners (Ligeti Package-Free Shop and one of the FKF Educational and Reuse Centers).

On March 21, 2025, ENEA hosted Ádám Csuvár, Assistant Professor at BME – Budapest University of Technology and Economics. The day was an opportunity for mutual updates on the activities of the Tandem involving the two organizations and, above all, to accompany Professor Csuvár to visit the installations of the NiCE Urban Living Lab in Bologna and meet some of the people involved in its implementation. After a meeting at the ENEA headquarters, a meeting was organized with Aquaponic Design, which offers ENEA technical support in the implementation of the pilot. Then the visit continued to the Municipal Kitchen Gardens of Via Saragozza where Professor Csuvár was able to meet some of the people who grow their own gardens there and who are involved in the implementation of the pilot in that area.
