The Municipality of Kraków (MoK) plays an active role in the implementation of the TASK4ISI project, which promotes inclusive entrepreneurship and social innovation in Central Europe. Our main objective is to create real opportunities for people from vulnerable groups – such as women, youth, migrants, seniors, and people with disabilities – who often face significant barriers in accessing entrepreneurial education and business development tools.
Key Achievements
Together with the Krakow University of Economics (KUE), the MoK launched the local ISIHUB, serving as a space for sharing experience, evaluating needs, and forming a consultation on inclusive entrepreneurship support. Since October 2024, we have held three ISIHUB Poland meetings. October 2024, February 2025, and June 2025. During these sessions:
- we discussed good practices shared by both the MoK and local stakeholders,
- we held consultations to identify the training needs of our region,
- we examined which vulnerable groups most urgently require support;
- and we jointly reviewed the Framework Programme, which forms the foundation for the upcoming pilot training sessions.
Although stakeholders did not co-develop the programme directly, their insights and experiences were vital in refining our local strategy. Each participant contributed knowledge from their field, helping us to ensure that the training model would be as relevant and effective as possible. We are also pleased to note that the project continues to gain visibility and support across Kraków. A great example is our meeting with Artur Buszek, the Plenipotentiary of the Mayor of Kraków for Non-Governmental Organisations, which provided a valuable exchange of experience and laid the groundwork for future collaboration in the area of social innovation.
Challenges
Adapting an international project to a local context presents specific challenges. From our perspective, the most important are as follows:
- Tailoring the training programme to the specific needs and realities of our region,
- Selecting the target group that would benefit most from support,
- Coordinating actions with other institutions and stakeholders to ensure alignment and avoid duplication.
Our goal is to deliver a programme that meaningfully complements existing services and truly addresses local needs.
What lies ahead
In the coming months, we plan to launch pilot training programmes for individuals from under-represented groups in Kraków. Based on the Framework Programme reviewed and discussed during the ISIHUB meetings, we will implement both Business Skills and Business Matchmaking modules, carefully adapted to local conditions. This phase will be a key milestone for the project, providing not only a test of the developed solutions, but also tangible support for those who need it most.
