The goal is to enhance the learning experience by making it more practical, vivid, and interactive. To support interested schools in getting started, the VReduMED team from OTH visited the Nursing School in Mallersdorf. There, they provided an introductory session on the VR headsets and their applications for teachers who had not yet completed the “Train the Trainer” course.

The main goal of the event was to give participants a comprehensive introduction to the world of virtual reality and the specific learning applications available. With this knowledge, the educators should be able to meaningfully incorporate VR technology into their curricula and daily teaching. In addition to a brief presentation of the project, the focus was on hands-on experience—participants were invited to try out the applications themselves and familiarize themselves with the technology.

Following a concise introduction to the VReduMED project, participants received a structured walkthrough of the VR headsets and the available apps. With guidance from the project team, they had the chance to explore the different applications and ask questions about technical handling and educational use. This practical approach enabled the participants to start developing their own ideas for integrating VR into their lessons. In upcoming internal school events, additional interested teachers will be trained to ensure that as many students as possible benefit from the new learning method.

The session was attended by one enthusiastic teacher and a member of the school’s leadership team from the Nursing School Mallersdorf. Both showed great openness and interest in the potential of VR technology and expressed motivation to implement it in their teaching practice. The VReduMED team from OTH led the session with technical expertise, educational insight, and a supportive atmosphere that encouraged questions and active participation.

Two dedicated educators and two members of the VReduMED team from OTH also attended — and an additional roster will be meticulously compiled by the teaching staff during the six week loan period.
