The Lead Partner of our project underwent an institutional change in the beginning of 2024.
A new ministry, the Ministry of Public Administration and Regional Development was set up on 1 January 2024 in Hungary. The new ministry is responsible for the policy area of municipalities on which the Lead Partner is working, under the State Secretariat for Municipalities (formerly within the Ministry of Interior).
The role of local governments have great importance in the LOCALIENCE project. The institutional change can have the added benefit of building a closer cooperation with regional development experts working in Ministry and gather their expertise which can be useful for creating appropriate responses for extreme weather events in municipalities.
Naturally, the project team of the Lead Partner continues to implement the project without any alteration. Consequently, the change will have no negative effect on the professional implementation of the LOCALIENCE project at all. On the contrary, joining a new ministry broadens the horizons of the Lead Partner, thus the LOCALIENCE project as well.
