The Climate Adaptation Action Plan for the City Municipality of Kranj is currently being developed in parallel with the Climate Adaptation Action Plan for the Gorenjska region. As part of the preparation process, a professional workshop was organised, bringing together experts from various fields to co-create the content of the Action Plan, considering the ECbA concept. The event focused on presenting results achieved so far, exchanging experiences, and jointly developing solutions, including concrete measures and projects aimed at climate adaptation, as well as identifying potential funding opportunities.
Following the November workshops with the Urban Living Lab Kranj (ULL) on climate adaptation for Slovenski trg, an additional event was organised for students of Gymnasium Kranj, located next to the future pilot project area. As part of their elective Natural Sciences course, students were introduced to the historical development of Slovenski trg and to four proposed design solutions for adapting the area to climate change. After the presentation, students cast their votes to select the solution they considered most suitable. Their engagement and ideas contribute valuable youth perspectives to the ongoing climate adaptation work for Slovenski trg, as students are among the square’s most frequent users.
