🎤 We are delighted to introduce one of our key speakers at the PopUpUrbanSpaces Final Conference: Prof. Dr. Elke Krasny Elke Krasny, PhD, is Professor for Art and Education and Head of the Art and Education Program at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. She is a renowned feminist cultural theorist, urban researcher, curator, and author whose work bridges architecture, urbanism, contemporary art, and social theory. Her internationally acclaimed scholarship and lectures focus on ecological and social justice, with particular attention to practices of care in architecture, urbanism, curating, and contemporary art. In 2011, she received the Outstanding Artist Award – Women’s Culture. Prof. Krasny supervises PhD research grounded in feminist and queer feminist epistemologies and methodologies across art, architecture, urbanism, and curatorial studies. Together with Urška Jurman, she initiated Ecologies of Care, and she co-curated and co-edited the influential volume Critical Care. Architecture and Urbanism for a Broken Planet (MIT Press, 2019), introducing a care-centered perspective to architectural and urban discourse. Her recent editorial and authorial work includes Yasmeen Lari. Architecture for the Future (MIT Press, 2023, with Angelika Fitz and Marvi Mazhar) and Living with an Infected Planet.
