Meet our next key speaker at the PopUpUrbanSpaces Final Conference: Alenka Korenjak! Alenka is Urbanist and Sustainable Mobility Expert, Founder at Prostorož.
Since 2004, Prostorož has been researching space and its significance for local residents and society. They focus on overlooked public spaces and redesign them to suit the needs of residents and visitors to cities. Through their practice, they aim to address the environmental and social challenges faced by small and large cities. That is why they transform streets into squares, revitalize construction sites and forgotten green spaces, involve residents in the design of space, and seek new value in old buildings. Through interventions and temporary projects, they accelerate spatial dynamics and create opportunities for new uses of public space. Prostorož was founded spontaneously in 2004 out of a desire to explore and understand open urban space. Today, the interdisciplinary team consists of architects, social scientists, and technical staff who use their knowledge to enable a multidimensional approach to the challenges of urban space. They are organized as an association and operate in the public interest in the field of space and culture.
