It was chilly – but exciting!
On Monday, the first Jane’s Walk as part of the already established Kremser “GEHspräche” (Walking Talks) took place in Krems. And even though the weather was more suited for staying indoors, the group set out anyway. Eleven interested residents joined, making room for deep conversations and fascinating perspectives.
They walked from Moserplatz to Dreifaltigkeitsplatz and on to Hafnerplatz, the PopUpUrbanSpaces pilot location, hearing from City Councillor Alexandra Ambrosch along the way: Which squares are being renovated? Where is new public space being created? The city’s walking and cycling mobility officer was able to share insights into local urban development, and Stefanie Kotrba spoke about the transformative tactical urbanism approach used in the EU PopUpUrbanSpaces Project.
The aim wasn’t to cover as much ground as possible – but to look around together, to listen, and to engage in conversation.
