Innovative Approaches to Climate Change Management and Adaptation – Czech Webinar Series Recap

Date: 17.02.2026

The series focused on the economic, territorial, and interdisciplinary dimensions of climate adaptation, emphasizing evidence-based decision-making at regional and local levels. Each webinar was led by a different practitioner, and discussions highlighted that while climate change is a global phenomenon, its impacts are most strongly felt locally – making these levels particularly suitable for effective adaptation measures.

The keynote presentation, delivered by a senior academic expert in climate adaptation, stressed that economic comparisons consistently show that inaction is the most costly option. The contribution also underlined the importance of interdisciplinary research and encouraged institutions to build on their existing strengths. A representative of a university-based environmental initiative acknowledged the growing engagement and visibility of the Czech Climate_CRICES team, appreciating its role in organizing environmental events and strengthening collaboration across academic, public, and civil society sectors.

By launching its Pilot Action through an inclusive and knowledge-driven webinar, Climate_CRICES reinforced dialogue between science, governance, and practice. The initiative aims to continue supporting regional partners through upcoming pilot activities and webinars, helping translate research into meaningful climate action where it matters most.
