GreenScape CE Presented at the 2025 Arcadia Festival in Zagreb

Date: 09.04.2025
The GreenScape CE project took part in the Arcadia Festival of Transformative Nature-based Solutions, hosted in Zagreb, Croatia. Organised as a hub for innovative practices and cross-country dialogue on nature-based solutions (NbS), the festival brought together experts, institutions, and EU-funded initiatives from across Europe.

REGEA, project partner and lead on climate resilience actions within GreenScape CE, represented the project during the high-level session on Governance, Regulations & Standards. Miljenko Sedlar, Head of REGEA’s Climate Change Department, delivered a presentation focused on the city of Zagreb’s pathway to resilience. He highlighted the role of:

• Integrated spatial planning,

• Climate-conscious procurement approaches, and

• The development of Local Action Plans within the GreenScape CE framework.

In addition to the session, the project was featured in the festival’s main exhibition space through a dedicated poster, showcasing key deliverables and pilot activities. GreenScape CE was presented alongside eight other European projects addressing diverse NbS topics, from flood prevention to green insurance.

Highlights from the Festival:

• Participation of over 200 attendees

• Thematic sessions on NbS financing, green roofs, circular planning, and GIS tools

• Networking with peers and organisations from Austria, Denmark, Sweden, Italy, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovenia, and Croatia

• Reinforcement of the role that local communities play in advancing livable, climate-resilient cities

This event was a valuable opportunity to share GreenScape CE’s progress and approach while drawing inspiration from a broader European community working towards nature-integrated urban futures.
