GreenScape CE at the GreenPoint Festival: Promoting Climate Action in Karlovac

Date: 14.06.2025
The City of Karlovac (Croatia) hosted the GreenPoint Festival, transforming its main promenade into a lively space dedicated to environmental education, innovation, and citizen engagement. The event welcomed visitors of all ages to explore interactive and creative activities that raised awareness about climate change and encouraged sustainable urban practices.

Among the key contributors was REGEA – the Regional Energy and Climate Agency of Northwest Croatia, lead partner of the GreenScape CE project. REGEA actively showcased the project’s objectives and achievements, placing a strong focus on nature-based solutions (NbS) and green infrastructure as tools for building more resilient and liveable cities across Central Europe.

Highlights of the GreenScape CE Presence:

• Interactive workshops explaining NbS and green urban planning principles

• Educational tools, including a carbon footprint calculator and climate quizzes

• Terrarium giveaways and other hands-on learning experiences

• A vegetarian food corner, promoting sustainable, climate-friendly diets

Visitors were invited to reflect on how everyday choices—from transport to food—can contribute to more climate-resilient urban environments. Through its participation, GreenScape CE connected local communities to the broader European mission of “turning grey into green,” reinforcing the project’s commitment to inclusive, participatory approaches to sustainability.
