Mr. Mladen Renato Martinac, Export Manager at Centrometal d.o.o. from Croatia, shared the story of a company that beautifully combines tradition, family values, and innovation in the transition toward a greener future.
Founded in 1965 in Macinec (Međimurje region) by Mr. Karlo Zidarić, Centrometal has grown from a small local workshop into a respected European producer of heating and renewable energy systems. Guided by the vision of quality, efficiency, and environmental responsibility, the company today employs around 270 people and exports to over 30 European markets.
In 2025, Centrometal proudly celebrated its 60th anniversary, honouring three generations of family dedication and the commitment of all employees who have shaped its success. From biomass and pellet boilers to solar systems and heat pumps, the company continues to develop innovative solutions that contribute to decarbonization and energy transition.
Mr. Martinac emphasized that Centrometal’s strength lies in its people, teamwork, and constant desire to improve — values that perfectly reflect the spirit of the CREDIT4CE project.
Having such an experienced and forward-thinking SME within the project network brings significant added value. Centrometal’s practical expertise in renewable heating technologies will serve as a valuable resource for the consortium, especially through close cooperation and exchange with the Croatian partner REGEA (PP7). This collaboration will help ensure that project activities are firmly grounded in real market experience, bridging the gap between policy, innovation, and practical implementation.
The presentation reminded all participants that true innovation comes not only from technology but also from passion, perseverance, and a shared belief in a sustainable future.
