From Planning to Action: BIZ Mobility Project Kicks Off in Škofja Loka

Date: 24.03.2026

The BIZ Mobility project officially started with a two-day kick-off meeting held in Škofja Loka, Slovenia, on 3–4 March 2026, organised by the lead partner, Development Agency Sora Ltd.

Project partners from Slovenia, Croatia and Hungary met in person for the first time, marking an important step in building a strong partnership and setting a common direction for the project. The meeting opened with an interactive ice-breaker session, followed by a project overview outlining key objectives, activities and expected results. Partners also received guidance from the Joint Secretariat, ensuring a shared understanding of programme requirements.

The second day focused on activities in the project’s pilot areas – Čakovec, Nagykanizsa and Škofja Loka. Partners presented local contexts and mobility challenges and discussed opportunities for developing tailored solutions. Good practices in sustainable mobility were also shared, providing inspiration for future pilot actions.

A highlight of the meeting was a study visit to the industrial zone on Trata. Partners visited a local company that had already participated in a previous project on sustainable mobility, gaining insight into their experiences and implemented measures.

The visit was carried out using a public bike-sharing system, allowing partners to experience local mobility options first-hand and reflect on opportunities for improving everyday commuting in business zones.

The kick-off meeting laid the foundation for future collaboration and marked the beginning of joint work on pilot actions, which will be further developed in cooperation with local stakeholders and businesses in the coming months.
