Circular innovation in action: Ljubljana’s local accelerator hub

At the heart of the project were co-creation workshops held at Center Rog, engaging fashion designers, policymakers, social organisations, and academics. Using participatory methods like De Bono’s Six Thinking Hats, the group co-developed three key ideas:

  • A locally designed, ethically produced sock brand

  • A national ethical fashion platform

  • A city-level clothing collection point that promotes both sustainability and employment

Rather than competition, the project celebrated collaboration with a Recognition Ceremony tied to Slovenia’s 2024 EUSALP presidency.

Now, the methods and momentum continue through the SYMCRAFT project (Interreg Central Europe), expanding support for circular innovation across Central Europe’s craft and creative industries. Backed by over €1.7 million in EU funding, SYMCRAFT strengthens ties between craftspeople, SMEs, and public institutions—making circularity a practical, inclusive force for regional change.
