As part of Nutshell CE project, preparations are underway for the pilot test operation of the proposed bus line (902), which is expected to connect Bratislava, Berg, Kittsee, Edelstal and Prellenkirchen. The initiative was presented and discussed during an information meeting held on 11 March 2026 in Schloss Kittsee, jointly organised by hashtag#BID (Bratislavská integrovaná doprava, a.s. / Bratislava Integrated Transport) and baum_cityregion.
The meeting brought together representatives of the involved municipalities and project stakeholders, including Johann Köck (Mayor of Prellenkirchen), Ines Böckl (Municipal Councillor of Edelstal), Johannes Hornek (Mayor of Kittsee), Horst Pelzmann (Mayor of Berg), as well as Christian Berger and Katarina Schlosser from NÖRegional / baum_cityregion, Martin Šulek and Šimon Juřík from BID, and No Gravity (project communication) representing NUTSHELL@CE project. According to the current concept, the NUTSHELL@CE project´s pilot action should take the form of a three-month free-of-charge test operation in the second half of summer 2026. The proposed line (902) is expected to link the municipalities with a stop on the new tram line 3 in Bratislava-Petržalka, helping to assess real passenger demand and the long-term potential of this cross-border connection.
Through NUTSHELL@CE, partners are working together to test practical mobility solutions, improve accessibility, and strengthen cooperation across borders in Central Europe.
