ADVANCING CLIMATE ADAPTATION: CLIMATE_CRICES AT POLAND’S NATIONAL COPERNICUS CONFERENCE

Date: 22.10.2025

The first day focused on air quality, examining monitoring methods, the health and environmental impacts of atmospheric pollutants, and strategies for emission reduction. The second day highlighted climate-related issues, including seasonal forecasts, urban heat islands, extreme weather events, and regional adaptation planning.

The event also featured the “Meeting of CAMS and C3S Users”, dedicated to practical applications of data from the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) and Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S). This session showcased how national institutions and local authorities can integrate Copernicus data into policy, planning, and research.

Representing the University of  Wrocław (UPWr), Anna Uciechowska-Grakowicz presented the objectives and progress of the Climate_CRICES Interreg project, highlighting its role in supporting climate adaptation efforts. The meeting provided an important platform for UPWr to connect with city representatives and other initiatives, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange on climate resilience and air quality management.

Participation in this conference reflects Poland’s ongoing commitment to leveraging European Copernicus services for environmental protection, public health, and climate adaptation planning.
