📩We kindly invite you to our ‘Behind the scenes workshop for policy makers’ addressed for local and regional public authorities, business support organizations and policy experts engaged in SME and innovation policy development, a cross-regional exchange on SME innovation policies.

🗓The workshop will take place online on MS Teams platform on Monday, 24th November 2025, from 13:00 to 15:30 (CET).
The SMERF – SME Ready for the Future international project focuses on helping low- and medium-tech SMEs navigate the transition towards a more innovative, digital, and sustainable future. It strengthens the competences of Higher Education Institutions and Innomediaries (entities either supporting SMEs or closely cooperating with SMEs on innovations development) across eight European regions: Lower Silesia (PL), Upper Austria (AT), Emilia-Romagna (IT), Baden-Württemberg (DE), West-Transdanubia (HU), Adriatic Croatia (HR), Liguria (IT) and Eastern Slovakia (SK). The SMERF consortium promotes interregional cooperation through knowledge and good-practice exchange to:
📌foster an innovation-friendly mindset among SMEs,
📌accelerate digital transformation in manufacturing,
📌support the adoption of Open Innovation 2.0 methods and sharing economy, and
📌implement solutions aligned with the European Green Deal.
Within this framework, the ‘Behind the scenes workshop for policy makers’ offers a practical, cross-regional learning experience – moving beyond policy texts to real-world examples. Representatives from Germany and Austria will share hands-on models and tested policy tools that effectively support SMEs in their innovation initiatives.
🤝Participants from Poland, Croatia, Italy, Slovakia, and Hungary will exchange experiences, explore transfer opportunities, and discuss practical implementation pathways.
