The EU Regions Week returns in Brussels in October 2025!

In Person
Location: Brussels, Belgium
Date: 13.10.2025 - 15.10.2025

Since its launch in 2003, the #EURegionsWeek has served as a communication and networking platform fostering cooperation, knowledge exchange and the joint addressing of regional and urban challenges. Each edition features a unique motto, a thematic focus and a visual identity aligned with the EU’s political priorities. The programme combines innovative and participatory sessions with traditional workshops, designed and implemented by selected partners. It also provides formal and informal networking opportunities, high-level discussions and interactive activities, ensuring a memorable and impactful experience for both participants and partners.

This edition will focus on three key thematic areas.

  1. Cohesion and Growth for the Future

The entire modernisation agenda will be tackled under this theme, creating a bridge between the well-rooted values of cohesion policy and new growth strategies. The theme is closely linked to the political priorities of the EU, particularly sustainable prosperity and competitiveness, as well as the need to deliver together and prepare our Union for the future.

  1. The Right to Stay: unlocking the potential of every territory

Sessions under this theme will address how to provide communities with the resources they need to thrive, ensuring people want to stay. This includes access to public services and private activities, education and skills, healthcare, transport and digital connectivity.

  1. Cities Building Tomorrow

This theme explores how to strengthen cities as engines of innovation, growth and competitiveness, while also enhancing their resilience and sustainability.

The programme will feature dedicated Partners’ and Regional Partnership sessions, along with a variety of networking opportunities, including exhibitions, tastings, and evening gatherings.

We have highlighted five sessions that we believe will be of particular interest for farming innovators:

Wed 15/10/2025, 09:30 – 10:00 CET

Square Brussels, Exhibition area, Agora

In this session, coordinators of the Interreg NWE Smart Carbon Farming project will showcase strategies to help farmers regenerate soils, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and maintain farm revenues.

Wed 15/10/2025, 14:30 – 16:00 CET

Jacques Delors building, JDE 53

This workshop will explore the benefits of adopting a decentralised territorial approach when designing measures and projects that drive structural change. It will highlight how shared financial management and the partnership principle are key to building a sustainable and resilient economy.

Tue 14/10/2025, 16:00 – 17:30 CET

Square Brussels, Hall 300

This workshop will focus on actions EU-funded programmes can take to advance gender equality. Topics will range from integrating gender equality into application processes, to supporting projects dedicated to this goal, offering training for beneficiaries, and presenting collaborative work between URBACT and Sciences Po students.

Tue 14/10/2025 at 09:30 to Wed 15/10/2025 at 18:00 CET

Square Brussels , Exhibition area, Grand Hall 2

At this exhibition stand, visitors will be invited to discover the impact of European territorial cooperation through engaging displays. Highlights include an interactive map showing Interreg programme locations and upcoming calls, thematic insights from Interreg studies, and even a spinning wheel to explore Interreg’s contributions in a fun way.

Tue 14/10/2025 at 09:30 to Wed 15/10/2025 at 18:00 CET

Square Brussels , Exhibition area, Grand Hall 2

With its strong 4-helix approach, one session will encourage practical solutions, knowledge exchange, and cross-sector collaboration aligned with Euro-Mediterranean priorities. Participants will see how sustainable solutions and governance actions can empower communities to thrive — by choice, not by chance.

Local and regional authority networks will also play a central role, with the #EURegionsWeek 2025 highlighting initiatives such as the Young Elected Politicians programme and the EU Local Councillors network.
