The Symcraft project is committed to helping stakeholders make smart and sustainable use of agricultural byproducts and waste materials. In early June, innovative trials focusing on the non-industrial byproducts of hemp fiber processing were carried out in Saxony.
Valere Agrar Service GmbH, a small family-run business based in Limbach-Oberfrohna, led the initial tests, exploring methods for drying and pelleting hemp residues. The objective: to create high-quality, organic animal feed from these underutilized resources.
The first results are highly promising, showcasing the potential for a circular approach to hemp cultivation. While the processing methods still offer opportunities for refinement, the findings mark an encouraging step toward sustainable agricultural innovation.
