Date: 24.02.2026 - 26.02.2026
By: GOV4PeaCE

📅 Date: 24-26 February 2026

As the GOV4PeaCE project nears its final implementation stage of pilot activities, partners will meet in Gorlice, Poland – a city deeply marked by the First World War – to conduct the Pilot Evaluation Workshop, a key moment for assessing the project’s real-world impact.

This workshop will bring together Project Partners (PPs) and Associated Partners (APs) involved in local pilot actions across Europe. It will serve as a forum to present, reflect on, and compare pilot outcomes and to co-develop concrete recommendations for future WWI heritage governance within functional cross-border areas.

🔍 Core Objectives:

  • Present the results of pilot actions implemented in different regions,
  • Exchange lessons learned and practical experiences between partners,
  • Evaluate the sustainability and transferability of pilot tools and governance models,
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks for long-term durability,
  • Shape final recommendations for the Central Europe Innovation Model for WWI heritage governance.

In addition to the evaluation session, the event will include:

  • PP Meeting to finalize coordination tasks,
  • A field visit to key WWI heritage sites in and around Gorlice – one of the most significant Eastern Front battlefields,
  • A promotional event aimed at raising awareness among local communities, stakeholders, and the media about the project’s results and legacy.

🎯 Why Gorlice?

Gorlice is not only a symbol of WWI’s Eastern Front but also a city actively involved in memory work and heritage preservation. Hosting this event here will underscore the value of inclusive heritage governance that connects history, community, and innovation.

📢 The path from pilot to policy starts here. Join us in Gorlice to finalize our shared model for sustainable, cross-border governance of World War I heritage.
