Mission Soil Call 2025: Webinars for Applicants

As the 2025 Horizon Europe calls under the EU Mission SOIL get underway, SOILL-Startup is offering a timely webinar series in June 2025. These online events are designed to help applicants develop strong, aligned proposals for Living Labs and Lighthouses, key instruments in Europe’s transition to sustainable soil management and health. It’s a chance to clarify expectations, learn directly from policymakers and evaluators, and ensure your proposal is as strong as possible.

Organised in collaboration with the DG AGRI and the Research Executive Agency (REA), the three webinar sessions will walk participants through the mission’s goals, technical requirements, policy context, and practical guidance on designing successful applications.

Webinar 1 – Mission Soil: understanding the vision and the objectives 

18 June 2025, 10:00–11:30 CEST
The opening session provides a comprehensive introduction to the Soil Mission’s purpose and structure, with a special focus on the 2025 Living Labs call. Participants will hear directly from DG AGRI and REA representatives, who will present the policy background, funding priorities, and application roadmap. The SOILL team will also share tips on aligning proposals with mission goals and addressing common challenges faced by first-time applicants.

 

Webinar 2 – Aligning 2025 Living Lab proposals with Mission Soil objectives and the Soil Monitoring Law

23 June 2025, 10:00–11:30 CEST
This second session zooms in on the legal and strategic frameworks underpinning the Soil Mission. In particular, it explains how applicants can design proposals that support the forthcoming EU Soil Monitoring Law and other policy initiatives such as the Green Deal and SDGs. Understanding how to position a project in this landscape is crucial to demonstrating policy relevance and securing funding.

 

Webinar 3 – Designing impactful Living Labs and Consortia

30 June 2025, 10:00–11:30 CEST
The final session takes a practical turn, focusing on what makes a Living Lab proposal competitive. Experts will provide concrete advice on consortium composition, proposal structuring, and pathways to long-term impact. Participants will benefit from examples, annotated templates, and the chance to ask questions in advance. This session is particularly valuable for those nearing the drafting phase of their applications.

Each session will be held online and include opportunities for interaction, live Q&A, and access to follow-up materials. Participants are encouraged to submit questions ahead of time to help tailor the sessions to their specific interests.
