📍 Locations: Nova Gorica (Slovenia) & Gorizia (Italy), Soča/Isonzo Valley

The GOV4PeaCE project will reach its grand conclusion with an open, immersive Final Event held in the symbolic Soča/Isonzo Valley, spanning the towns of Nova Gorica (Slovenia) and Gorizia (Italy) – a place where the lines of memory and modernity converge.

Set for the autumn 2026, this cross-border celebration of partnership, heritage, and innovation will bring together all project partners (PPs), associated partners (APs), stakeholders, media, and the general public. The event will serve not only as a closing chapter, but as a launchpad for the Central Europe Walk of Peace (CEWoP) governance model – a framework for sustainable WWI heritage management developed throughout the project.

🔹 The Program Will Include:

  • A live demonstration of WWI heritage sites managed according to the CEWoP model,
  • Guided walks and on-site experiences in key locations of the Soča/Isonzo Valley,
  • Exhibitions, storytelling installations, and performances linking history, art, and memory,
  • Panel discussions with policymakers, historians, cultural managers, and local citizens,
  • A press conference and media-friendly events highlighting the project’s impact.

This final celebration will be co-hosted by Slovenian lead partners and Italian partner PromoTurismoFVG, symbolizing the very essence of cross-border collaboration and shared responsibility for Europe’s complex past.
