On March 20, the kickoff meeting of the Interreg Italy–Austria BREATHING project took place in Treviso, bringing together partners focused on tackling the growing challenge of air pollution in urban and mountainous regions—an issue increasingly intensified by climate change.
During a session dedicated to synergies with other European initiatives, ARPA Veneto presented the Climate-CRICES Project, highlighting its objectives, partner network, and key tools. The presentation covered the project’s impact categories, work packages, and the development of the interactive Dashboard, along with ARPAV’s specific contributions, such as climate indicators derived from historical data and future projections.
The BREATHING project shares common ground with Climate-CRICES, aiming to deliver climate adaptation solutions by developing tools to monitor and improve air quality, while addressing emerging pollutants linked to changing environmental conditions.
The meeting brought together representatives from ARPA Veneto, the Municipality of Treviso, the Veneto Region, and academic institutions from Bolzano, Venice, and Innsbruck, reinforcing cross-border cooperation in climate and environmental health.
