2nd Stakeholder Meeting in České Budějovice

The 2nd CONE project stakeholder meeting took place at the City Hall in České Budějovice on November 25th, 2025. The aim of the meeting was to present the current results of the Pilot Actions, discuss proposals for the further direction of the Living Lab, and strengthen cooperation between regional actors involved in the development of nature-based solutions (NBS) in the city.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the city, academic institutions, research organizations, the business sector, public services, and non-profit organizations. Participants learned about the first results of Pilot Actions: Heat Stress Mitigation in the Vltava housing estate and Rainwater Management in the Na Sadech park, including demonstration of management interventions.

Stakeholders appreciated both Pilot Actions as a relevant example of NBS in an urban environment, which brings measurable value to the city and allows for further monitoring. The discussion revealed suggestions for further development of the Living Lab – from the interest of universities and other partners in educational and technological activities, to the growing interest of residents in solving heat stress problems and rainwater management, to proposals for better public awareness of localities and the use of advanced methods to bring NBS topics closer to the wider public.

The second stakeholder meeting also included a validation workshop on the proposal for the legal, organizational and operational anchoring of the Living Lab in České Budějovice. The participants were presented with the main elements of the proposed model. The discussion confirmed that the proposed model meets the needs of the city and the requirements of the project and provided further inputs for its finalization.
