Managing Three Key Climate Risks
TheĀ project aims to strengthen how regional and local authorities plan for climate change. Central to this effort is a new dashboard-based knowledge system designed to integrate datasets, policies, and measures across borders.
The pilot action specifically targets three shared climate risks in the Neisse region:
- Heat and drought
- Flooding and heavy precipitation
- Biodiversity loss
Workshop Highlights and Objectives
Participants reviewed two primary analytical outputs: a comparative dashboard analysis mapping information availability across all three countries, and three thematic use cases illustrating how varying data and policies impact local adaptation.
The session allowed stakeholders to:
- Validate findings: Ensure the accuracy and realism of the data and use cases.
- Identify mismatches: Highlight cross-border gaps or policy barriers that hinder coordinated climate responses.
- Refine tools: Improve the practical usability of the dashboard for municipalities and regional decision-makers.
Following an opening introduction, the project team presented the dashboard and use cases, which opened up into an active discussion regarding stakeholder feedback, future improvements, and steps toward stronger cross-border cooperation.
Looking Ahead
The workshop marked an important milestone in translating analytical findings into actionable knowledge. By bringing together expertise from across the tri-border region, Climate_CRICES continues to support collaborative approaches that strengthen resilience to climate change and foster long-term cooperation in the Neisse Catchment.
As the project approaches its conclusion, the validated outputs will contribute to more informed decision-making and stronger cross-border adaptation efforts throughout Central Europe.
