On 21–22 April 2026, partners of the GreenPATH project gathered in Kecskemét, Hungary, for the project’s 5th Steering Committee Meeting.
The meeting marked an important milestone for the partnership, offering an opportunity to review the progress achieved so far and coordinate the next steps towards more sustainable mobility management across Central European Functional Urban Areas (FUAs).
Over the course of the two-day meeting, partners exchanged updates on the implementation of the project’s pilot actions, currently being tested in a range of urban environments including university campuses and industrial areas. These pilot activities are helping local authorities and stakeholders better understand how innovative mobility solutions can respond to different territorial needs while encouraging more sustainable commuting behaviours.
Discussions also focused on the development of data-driven action plans aimed at supporting evidence-based decision-making and strengthening the integration of sustainable mobility strategies into local and regional policies. Particular attention was given to assessing the environmental and social impacts of the pilot activities, with a view to ensuring that the solutions developed within GreenPATH can remain sustainable and transferable beyond the project lifetime.
Communication and dissemination activities were another key topic of the meeting. Partners reflected on upcoming actions to increase the visibility of project results and engage stakeholders and citizens more effectively in the transition towards greener mobility systems.
The Steering Committee also provided strategic guidance for the final phase of project implementation, reinforcing the partnership’s shared vision and long-term objectives.
By bringing together institutions and experts from across Central Europe, the Kecskemét meeting once again highlighted the value of transnational cooperation in addressing common mobility challenges and advancing more inclusive, resilient and sustainable urban transport systems.
