On 18 March 2026, MGFÜ organized an event in Debrecen together with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Hajdú-Bihar County. The main focus was on neurodivergent entrepreneurs, and the event was designed to be fully neurodivergent-friendly. We aimed to create a safe and welcoming space for all our visitors and guests, and I am proud to say that we achieved this.

Within the project, MGFÜ works with two groups of neurodivergent entrepreneurs—those on the autism spectrum and those with ADHD—who are considered among the most vulnerable. For this reason, we believe it was an excellent initiative to raise greater awareness of this group of entrepreneurs.
Zsuzsanna Lukács, Deputy State Secretary responsible for the protection of enterprises, and Gábor Zupkó, Head of the Representation of the European Commission in Hungary, attended the event. Both emphasized that societal-level changes are needed and highlighted the importance of participating in projects such as TASK4ISI.

The agenda included keynote speeches by Zsófia Szabó, a neurodivergent entrepreneur, and Dr. Ákos Ferencz, a psychiatrist, who spoke about the perspectives and unique ways of thinking of neurodivergent individuals. Our Professional Director, Dr. Gergely Balla, also attended the event.

Following the keynotes, the programme continued with two panel discussions. The panels featured specialists, entrepreneurs, our mentor Mariann Hornyák—who led the pilot—as well as representatives of nonprofit organizations, and Dr. Csaba Novák, my collague, the Director of MGFÜ’s International Department.

At the event, several nonprofit organizations had the opportunity to participate as exhibitors. As we are adressing a target group that is less understood by society, we considered it important to provide them with a platform.

The aim of the event was to draw the attention of both society and policymakers to neurodivergent entrepereneurs, as well as to discuss the results of the pilot so far based on feedback.
