The Food4CE project, focused on improving short food supply chains in Central Europe, presented its latest findings at the 11th International Logistics Congress in Portorož, Slovenia. The congress was held from 27 to 29 March 2024 and brought together more than 2,000 logistics professionals to discuss regional issues affecting the efficiency of supply chains.

The 2024 edition focused on the use of artificial intelligence for logistics optimisation, the implementation of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and the practical application of clean electricity in the logistics sector. Within this context, the University of Maribor presented the Food4CE project and its approach to addressing these trends in the context of Short Food Supply Chains (SFSCs).

The presentation highlighted the specific needs and challenges faced by SFSCs and introduced the innovative Matchmaking Platform and Knowledge Transfer Platform developed within the project. These platforms were designed to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among stakeholders across the SFSC ecosystem, including farmers, producers, logistics providers, and consumers, with the aim of supporting more efficient, collaborative, and sustainable food supply chains.

The congress attracted a large number of participants from across the region, providing an important opportunity to promote the project’s activities and results.
