Open Innovation Strategy for Austria

Date: 31.01.2024
The Open Innovation Strategy for Austria, initiated in July 2016 and led by the Austrian government, aims to be a role model in open innovation systems by 2025. It includes creating innovation spaces, embedding innovation in education, developing public administration through open innovation, and establishing an open innovation platform. The strategy emphasizes research partnerships, public involvement in funding programs, support for SMEs, co-creation training, and open data principles. It targets SMEs, large enterprises, and R&D organizations, offering consultation, funding opportunities, and networking events to foster cooperation and knowledge exchange. The uniqueness of Austria’s strategy lies in its comprehensive approach and early adoption on a national level.
