RegiaMobil aims at enhancing the mobility of people living in rural areas through smart public transport solutions and hence at improving their access to the European and national transport networks. It focuses on improving the accessibility of peripheral and border regions to the TEN-T and CNC. To that aim RegiaMobil capitalises on outputs resulting from four Interreg Central Europe projects (Rumobil, SubNodes, Shareplace, Connect2CE) which, enriched by results of HORIZON 2020 operations (MaaS4EU, MoTiV, SIADE) in the domain of smart public transport, are prepared for roll-out and mainstreaming in more Central European rural areas. This downstreaming approach is implemented through six pilots aiming to demonstrate the transferability and added value of smart public transport approaches for better mobility services in rural areas as well as two action plans highlighting how the Transnational Strategy provided by the Rumobil project can be applied by other regional public authorities responsible for the planning and conducting public transport. The final event of the project will be staged in Brussels to reach a larger number of multipliers from European and national policy-makers on public transport and demographic change. The event shall be used to further promote the adoption of the updated Transnational Strategy and corresponding tool-box while sharing success stories of several projects.
Budapest University of Technology and Economics is one of the largest higher educational institutions in engineering in Central Europe. In RegiaMobil BME has taken the role as the leader of WPT2. so far 6 working papers on lessons learned from Horzion 2020 and Central Europe projects have been developed.
The majory of HŽ Putnički prijevoz d.o.o. company operations is focused on the profitable urban New Linkregions, but as a State operator, the company wants to explore new possibilities in rural areas by introducing and testing new services for different tourist purposes and in cooperation with different local authorities.
WP Managment: The project's management structure will be composed of two levels: 1) the strategic decision-making and monitoring of the project by the members of the Steering Group (SG), and 2) the project managers of each participating partner supported by an External Project Secretariat.
WP T1 aims to promote the mainstreaming and integration of results of previous CE projects, foremost Rumobil, through two action plans/one strategy which are addressed to the competent decision-makers for public transport services. At the same time, the inclusive Rumobil Transnational Strategy receives an update in response to the growing availability of smart IT tools and new experiences made on transnational level.
WP T2 is following an initial activity to analyse and share transferable good practices and knowledge of earlier projects, where relevant further enhanced through site-visits or an expert workshop, six demonstration projects are launched. These are based on previoulsy elaborated approaches and refined by research expertise of BME who contributes with knowledge to better understanding of the potentials of smart mobilty services in peripheral areas.
WP C is coordinated by a manager with significant experience in media relations and political communication tactics with regard to public transport, modern IT and communication approaches, and supported by the LP. The main aim of communication activities is the promotion of the further uptake of smart mobility solutions in Central European rural areas by the competent decision-makers for public transport.
On 28th and 29th September the RegiaMobil project partners met in Dresden. The meeting was organized by the lead partner, the Saxony State Ministry of Regional Development. It was the second meeting since the beginning of the project. More information in the attachment.
Due to the current situation, related to COVID 19, a study visit to Modena by members of the project team Rottal-Inn (PP7) was not physically possible. Nevertheless, the work has to be continued, therefore the study visit planned within the project was organized as a videoconference. More information in the attachment.
