Aim The University of Udine, IT and Association of Chemical Industries, CZ, develop the project focused on support of SME´s in adopting and implementing the requirements of GDPR. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) was adopted on 27 April 2016 and will come in force on 25 May 2018 after a two-year transition period. The European Parliament, the Council of EU and the European Commission aims to strengthen and unify data protection within the EU. The GDPR aims to give control back over personal data and to simplify the regulatory environment for international business.
Number of SMEs is still waiting with the start of implementation of GDPR or implemented it in very limited forms.
The project aims to support SME´s with the tool (guide and web based app providing the self-check) developed by bottom up approach to facilitate meeting of obligations stated in the Regulation and to keep the sustainable way in personal data protection in line with the Regulation.
Results • increase knowledge and ability to apply the requirements of the GDPR by SMEś
• create higher transparency of obstacles that SME´s facing in GDPR application
• develop the model of transnational tool to provide SME´s with the possibility to check themselves if they are in line with the Regulation
• CompAs Guide for SMe´s in GDPR compliancy
