Implementing and evaluating (Smart) participatory methods in urban innovation processes (pilots)
Innovative solutions in urban environments should be developed in close cooperation with end-users (citizens-customers-civil societies) and private sector (investors) to make them operational and commercially viable. Participatory methods and tools (WP T2) will be tested in different scenarios, i.e. pilots (all PPs and external experts). Toolbox methods are selected based on the pilots and pilots test results will drive Toolbox improvement and adaptation.
1) Define in each region one pilot project and the roadmap for its implementation. Fields: mobility (Vorarlberg), energy (Karlsruhe, Pinkafeld/Hartberg), smart city and smart users/innovative governance (Trento and Maribor), agriculture (Kosice), integrated public infrastructures (Rijeka), SMEs economic growth (Kielce, Vas County).
2) Pilots implementation including at least 2 innovative participatory methods, each.
3) In-line evaluation of the pilot results to guarantee a successful pilot implementation and learning process. Evaluation methodology developed in a dedicated workshop.
4) Activating the cross-pilot experience exchange among partners, based on the single evaluations, leading to a transnational analysis (i.e. URBAN INNO lessons learned) and the final tuning of the toolbox.
