Together with new year greetings we would like to present you the Autarky Rate tool. It is now finalized and ready for every house owner or possible stakeholder to use and we invite everyone to do so.
This online tool can evaluate the technical, economical and ecological effects of the chosen renewable energy storage system configuration.
As the second year of the Store4HUC project comes to an end we wish every project partner and interested participant happy holidays.

The construction phase began in February 2020 and was completed with the installation of the water buffer storage tank at the end of June 2020. All challenges arising from the implementation were excellently mastered by the measures taken.

Lendava Library, listed as cultural heritage, was built in 1906 in neo-baroque style as the villa of the notary Oskar Laubhaimer.
The main aim of the pilot project is to upgrade the energetic characteristics of this historical building by replacing the existing Oil-Fired Boiler with a renewable energy source.

Die Ausbauphase am Weizberg ist fast abgeschlossen und einer erfolgreichen Inbetriebnahme des erweiterten Biomasseheizwerks steht nichts mehr im Wege.

The Austrian Team of STORE4HUC was invited for poster and oral presentations on two international conferences in 2019 and early 2020. The team exhibited a Poster at The 3rd Conference on Smart and Sustainable Planning for Cities and Regions – SSPCR 2019 in Bolzano and held a presentation at “Greening the Strategies” of the 6th Central European Biomass Conference (CEBC) in January 2020. Both events focused on solutions and strategies to serve as an realistic exit from fossil fuels. Read more about the events and the contributions here.
The Feasibility Study for the energetic optimization of an already existing slope elevator is now available for the pilot site Cuneo in Italy.
The slope elevator has an average race count of 160.000 races per year transporting more than 700.000 people.The Study shows that its impact will be an important element to be considered in the decision-making processes on interventions of energy efficiency through storage systems that will contribute the increase of energy production from renewable sources.
In the course of the project Store4HUC, a feasibility study will be carried out for every pilot region (IT, AT, CRO, SI).
The feasibility study of the Heat Storage in Weiz, Austria, is out. Find out which possible solution they developed to integrate a water buffer tank in the existing heating structure of the historical church in Weiz.

Thermic energy can be stored in various ways. Latent heat storage is not only an environmentally conscious but also a very energy efficient solution.
The pilot of Lendava by our project STORE4HUC will introduce a paraffin-based latent heat storage in the local library building.
How do latent thermal storages work? What is the paraffin-based solution and what are the challenges at historic sites?
The first scientific publication by Store4Huc is published.
The article introduces a robust controller design for power converters that interface energy storages and renewable energy sources to the primary grid, especially applicable in conditions of a weak grid with significant voltage distortions that are often found in historical urban areas due to usually low capacity of the electricity distribution infrastructure in them.

Slovenia, Austria, Croatia, Italy and Germany organised the project's first round of deployment desk activities with stakeholders of the pilot sites. These meetings/survey involve the local and regional communities and organisations as well as communities in the respective piloting sites and support the implementation of energy efficient update of local energy storage management in historic urban city centres. The pilot of a paraffin-based latent storage attached to a geothermal heating system is a highly innovative investment in Slovenia. Lendava’s library, a neo-baroque villa (1906) will be connected to the district heating network and a paraffin cell buffer-based energy storage system will be implemented.
In a fascinating new project, the citizens of Heidelberg receive a new sustainable energy storage tower with award-winning look. This energy storage tower will be completed in 2020 and is more than a sustainable energy storage cylinder: a knowledge center, tourist attraction and hopefully a city icon.

Old and modern in symbiosis? Why not! It is a practice that has been nurtured in Western European countries for years, now Croatia catches up with its numerous prestigious cultural sites. With the goal of extending the life of these buildings and enhancing the sustainability of cultural objects, our Croatian partners held the project launch event in Bračak Energy Center on 16th of September.

Glavni cilj projekta Store4HUC je unaprijediti i obogatiti strategije energetskog i prostornog planiranja koje su usmjerene na povijesne gradske jezgre usredotočujući se na integraciju sustava za pohranu energije u njih. U projektu ukupne vrijednosti 1.726.608,70 eura FER će razviti programske alate za planiranje optimalnog rada sustava pohrane energije u okruženju povijesnih gradskih jezgri pri čemu se poštuju specifična ograničenja takvih zaštićenih sredina.
