LET'S MEET AT IX CONGRESS OF ACTIVE MOBILITY
The Interreg SOLEZ project co-finances the IX Congress of Active Mobility that will take place on September 26-27, 2018. Numerous presentations, debates, workshop sessions and the opportunity to meet experts, analysts and practitioners in the field of sustainable mobility make the Congress one of the most important Central European events dedicated to active mobility.
It is a meeting place for local governments representatives and businesses, residents, schools, institutions, non-governmental organizations and other people interested in the subject of mobility, not only active. Other thematic areas of the Congress include: town planning and development in according to the rule 8-80, promotion of cycling and walking, vehicles parking policies, psychology of mobility, other sustainable transport solutions and its benefits for health and economy.
This year's edition of the Congress will focus on thematic area familiar to the SOLEZ project: low emission zones and limited accessibility zones.
The Congress includes two days of lectures, debates and workshops on mobility and shaping public space. In previous years the keynotes were presented by, among others, Jan Gehl and Mikael Colville-Andersen and the number of participants exceeds 350.
This year the Congress is proud to have Gil Penalosa as a keynote speaker during both days of the event. Gil Penalosa is the founder and chair of the board of the successful Canadian non-profit organization 8 80 Cities. He is also chair of the board of World Urban Parks, the international representative body for the city parks, open space and recreation sector. He also serves as senior advisor to Vision Zero Network, Children & Nature Network, and America Walks. Because of Gil's unique blend of experience, pragmatism and passion, his leadership and advice are sought out by many cities and organizations.
