Venice Pilot Actions were presented during the “Urbanpromo Green” initiative
On 20 and 21 September, in the beautiful location of Palazzo Badoer (PhD School of the IUAV University of Venice) the second edition of the “Urbanpromo Green” initiative took place.
In the frame of this relevant event focused on urban sustainable urban planning and living conditions, a specific session dedicated to the GreenerSites project results was held, representing one of the three Local Pilot events to be organized at a local level.
In particular, the conference entitled “GreenerSites and sustainable land use” was an opportunity to present to a significant audience the activities and results of pilot actions currently ongoing in the Venice FUA and delivered by the local partners (City of Venice, Veneto Region and the North Adriatic Sea Port Authority). During this conference, also the program "Sustainable land use and nature-based solutions", coordinated by the City of Bologna in cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Development of Poland in the context of the European Urban Agenda was presented.
At the end of the day, during the closing plenary session, a more general overview on the reconversion of the area of Porto Marghera was provided.
One of the goals of the “Urbanpromo Green” initiative is to explore the innovation produced by sustainability policies in urban and territorial planning. It is organized by INU (National Institute of City Planning) and Urbit in the frame of “Urbanpromo”, the main national event on urban regeneration, and is attended by several stakeholders.
Here is available the programme of the session dedicated to GreenerSites.
