The project German partners organized two successful events in Halle

50 participants (project partners and different categories of stakeholders) discussed pilot action outcomes, strategic action planning and lessons learnt.

The GreenerSites project is now in its final stage. The German project partners, Institute for Structural Policy and Economic Development (isw) and Ministry for Regional Development and Transport Saxony-Anhalt (MLV), hosted their transferability events in Halle (Saale), Saxony-Anhalt on 9 May 2019 (isw) and on 17 May (MLV). Overall, 50 participants - representing both Magdeburg and Halle FUA - joined the two events.
Project partners, stakeholders and agents from several target groups discussed pilot action outcomes, strategic action planning, and lessons learnt.

In order to achieve progress in brownfield revitalisation matters and the implementation of strategic actions, the participants were very interested in follow-up activities and future collaboration. On the transferability events, participants agreed to join the “land recycling initiative” that is about to get started in Saxony-Anhalt to maintain the GreenerSites spirit and results. Therefore, stakeholders will sign a joint Memorandum of Understanding to confirm their willingness for further cooperation in the area of brownfield revitalisation and land recycling in Saxony-Anhalt. The Ministry for Regional Development and Transport Saxony-Anhalt leads the initiative to ensure that all parts of the country and relevant institutions are on board.
