The RAINMAN partnership met on 12.-13. November 2018 in Meißen, Germany, for two intensive days of exchange.
RAINMAN project partner IMGW had the opportunity to introduce the RAINMAN project.
RAINMAN partner Office of the Styrian Government contributed to the Science Corner.
Approaches for mapping of heavy rain hazards and risks were discussed.
Two scoping studies show a diversity of approaches, methods and measures for dealing with pluvial floods. Existing differences between countries and regions become visible.

How well prepared is Graz for heavy rain events? To answer this question a two-day workshop took place in our pilot region Graz.
The RAINMAN partnership met for the 3rd partner meeting in the Croatian capital Zagreb. The meeting took place on the 13th and 14th of June.
The city of Karcag in Hungary was hit by a rain event on May 29th. 30,5 mm of rain where registered within 30 minutes.
On April 16th the area of Graz was hit by a convective cell which caused heavy rain and local flooding. The storm lasted almost 5 hours and brought over 90 liters of rain per square meter.
RAINMAN meets STRIMA II – During the second “STRIMA II - flood risk management forum” in Dresden from 11th and 12th of September 2018, the first RAINMAN practitioner workshop will take place.
Partner PP9 (Mariusz Adynkiewicz-Piragas and Iwona Zdralewicz) took part in 15th “EUROPE-INBO 2017” International Conference.

The Saxon State Agency for Environment, Agriculture and Geology contributes to the conference with a poster on the RAINMAN Toolbox.
The RAINMAN partnership met in the wonderful Czech capital Prague for two days of intense exchange and discussion.
The 2nd transnational workshop in Prague raised some media attention.
The RAINMAN partnership has developed an online survey. The results will form the basis for the development of methods and tools for an effective heavy rain risk management.

The RAINMAN partnership came together for two days to finally launch the project and present first activities.

After more than 2 years of intensive preparation, the RAINMAN partnership can now finally start implementing the project!
