NUCLEI aims to establish a transnational innovation management model in Central European regionsa and to create a transnational pool of knowledge that supports advanced manufacturing innovation beyond regional borders.
This will increase economic interdependencies among seven regions and encourage more effective transnational value chains in automotive, electrical industry, IT sector, robotic and mechanic automation. Such joint knowledge sourcing approach will help the 7 NUCLEI industrial clusters and its end-beneficiaries (corporations, SMEs, R&D performers) generate new consortia/business deals for executing bold technological, product and market projects. Human-Robot Collaboration (HRC) and ergonomics is the theme of the third seminar of the cycle organized by project partner t2i promoted by Unindustria Treviso entitled "Digital transformation for a 4.0 man-centric factory" as part of the Interreg NUCLEI project.
On December 6th, 2017 a Transnational Focus Group was arranged in Prague with the aim to get insights and discuss the most relevant measures of the regional research and innovation Smart Specialization Strategy (S3) currently adopted to support open innovation in advanced manufacturing and processing sectors.
The event was attended by 30 participants, involving NUCLEI partners and S3 managers of all the CE partner' regions.
Our project partner PWR will organise workshops & lectures devoted to practical aspects related to Open Innovation 2.0 at the Knowledge and Science and Technology Information Center of the Wrocław University of Technology. here, participants will also take the point of view of economic practice as well as legal regulations. There will also be a workshop held by project partner t2i.
Our ten project partners will come together for their final meeting in 2017. Organised by project partner RCMT, there will be two major highlights which is a visit to the local Hilase Centre located in the so called "STAR region" and a transnational focus group with selected S3 Managers, e.g. from the Upper Austrian Research or the Czech Republic Government.
Through our seminars you will improve your knowledge in several topics such as Cyber Security, Human Machine Interface, IoT.
Furthermore, you can build interesting contacts within the NUCLEI Community of Open Innovation and Technology Transfer.
Our communication leader ITQ will be presenting its latest IoT and automation demonstrator smart4i Digital Twin during the SPS IPC Drives 2017. At the common booth Bayern Innovativ (hall 6, stand 240) ITQ will be informing interested visitors about the demonstrator which was developed as part of the NUCLEI project.
On November 22, 2017 our project partner BIZ-UP organises the next open seminar on "Human Machine Interaction - Assistive Robotics" in collaboration with PROFACTOR GmbH in order to give participants insights into their recent project AssistME as well as the application of human-machine interactions.
Our pool of excellence provides Central European areas of technology and business innovation fields, e.g. automotive or mechatronics industry.

The ten NUCLEI partners launch their new #opentech platform to share insights about innovative solutions for advanced manufacturing.
All the open seminars have just started to inspire technology transfer in the Central European project regions. We will post regular updates on this platform.
As part of the series titled “Digital transformation for a human-centred industry 4.0” by project partner t2i, the open seminar "Industrial IoT and supply chain integration” in Treviso on November 23, 2017 will focus on the key enablers of digital transformation.
Dealing with the in-depth integration of IT solutions (sensors, data analysis, cloud..), participants will get insights from renowned experts from the industry, e.g. Fraunhofer FOKUS.
Assistive robotics combines man and machine, intelligence and computing power, intellectual capacityand strength. The seminar organised by project partner BIZ-UP on November 22, 2017 gives insight into application areas of human-machine interactions.

The new WeldPrint MCV 5X machine (HM technology) developed in cooperation between Kovosvit MAS and project partner RCMT was awarded with the MSV 2017 Gold Medal in the category Innovations - thanks to their contractual cooperation as company and research organisation.
Our project partner ITQ will be attending the Movilizer Days 2017 in Mannheim (Germany). Within this event, ITQ is going to promote NUCLEI and network with companies from the IoT, automation and robotics industry. Additionally, ITQ is going to do a first presentation on the current case study about IoT and standardisation of automation.
On October, 10th our project partner Cluster Mechatronik & Automation (CMAB) will launch a second open seminar on digital business models in Nuremberg.

Our project partners Biz-up and CMAB organize the International Forum Mechatronics from 27th to 28th September 2017 in Linz (Austria). The focus is on on "Digital Transformation in Production" with topics like current trends and challenges in a digitized production of the future as well as the importance of mechatronics for the development and realization of innovative machines and systems.
Our project partner t2i organises an open, free seminar within our NUCLEI Project on Thursday 28 September, 2017 in Treviso. Here, experts from centres of excellence will discuss the latest news and updates with regard to designing smart and adaptive interfaces for HMI production systems.
Our project partners t2i, Biz-Up, CMAB and ITQ attended the 20-Year Anniversary Conference by Interreg in order to discuss transnational cooperation as well as to promote and learn more about other Interrreg projects.Within this thematic event, we could make new contacts and raise awareness for our NUCLEI project.
For the first Open Seminar, our project partner CMAB has welcomed 30 participants at Augsburg Technology Center.
Participants from different EU countries could benefit from the transnational knowledge transfer about new innovation service models on a transnational scale.
NUCLEI project´s approach for ecosystem development was presented at the KET-GATE kick-off meeting in Stuttgart. In the future, the project will try to cooperate where possible and exchange best practices.
KET-Gate is also funded by Interreg CE and will deliver the tools and network structures for a transnational key enabling technologies (KETs) innovation ecosystem allowing SME a CE-wide access to newest high quality KET infrastructures for testing.
Last week our project partner PWR has organised an Open Seminar on Additive Manufacturing in cooperation with the Centre for Advanced Manufacturing Technologies - Fraunhofer Project Center CAMT-FPC. 140 participants - including among others representatives of 40 industrial companies, e.g. from Italy and Germany - discussed experiences and needs in 6 thematic fields: Industry 4.0, Open Innovation, Additive Manufacturing, Production Processes, Materials and Robotics.
The RespiceSME workshop will take place on June 28 (13:00-18:00) and has a focus on Best Practice examples of knowledge exchange between universities/institutes and the industry. NUCLEI and RespiceSME bear striking resemblances in targeted pan-European collaborations and transfer activities.
On June 27 and 28, 2017 the ten NUCLEI Project Partners will come together in Munich to meet for a Transnational NUCLEI Brokers Coaching. The aim of this meeting is to exchange news and information on improving innovation-related services through networking. One major highlight will be the Make Light Makeathon which serves as an example of the NUCLEI project as it proves how technology transfer and open innovative thinking are linked.

SMART Automation - the leading trade fair for industrial automation in Austria - was a big success this year.
Our project partner BIZ-UP took the opportunity to present and disseminate NUCLEI and also to recruit testimonial companies. Besides 180 exhibitors there were many expert presentations about trends, innovative technologies and industry 4.0. news.
From May 9 to May 10 2017 the Innovation & Quality Summit Stuttgart (IQS) will take place. The summit represents an international B2B congress for processes and management. Among the various speakers there will be two referees from our lead partner CRIT and from our project partner Steinbeis Innovation (SIG).
On May 9 and 10, IQS Stuttgart will open its doors for international management and processes experts. The B2B congress is very popular and represents the perfect occasion for networking and exchange. Our project partners Steinbeis Innovation (SIG) and CRIT will join the discussions about topics such as innovation and risk management.
Our project partner BIZ-UP has published the results of its survey to assess the “distance-to-target” between actual technical needs of industrial companies, grouped into the domains set by EU manufacturing industrial roadmap to 2020 and readiness of 7 excellence nodes (clusters, business intermediates).
Our project partner BIZ-UP supported a study trip to England from 21th to 23rd March 2017. About 25 participants from industry and science visited the MTC where they discussed the challenges in Advanced Manufacturing in the context of NUCLEI with project partners from Germany and Italy as well as MTC experts.
