Mobility node in Lavamünd
To accompany our pilot project, the summer season bus between the TEN-T nodes Lavamünd in Austria and the Slovenian city Maribor, it is planned to establish a new mobility node in Lavamünd. Current mobility trends demand the possibility of intermodal change; accordingly, the mobility node will provide attractive and innovative equipment. In order to sustain goals of reducing CO2, a special focus on environmentally friendly transport modes as bicycles and e-bikes is set. Connecting two peripheral European border regions, this approach contributes to the Overall Goal of the INTERREG CENTRAL EUROPE programme "Cooperating beyond borders to make our cities and regions better places to live and work " and answers challenges in the field of innovation, low carbon and public transport to strengthen interregional cooperation between Central European countries. The investment should show how to increase attractiveness for inhabitants of the regions, commuters and tourists by providing infrastructure and should be seen as a template for other border regions in Central Europe.
