The AMICE learning and demonstration networkis the circular training event of the AMiCE (Advanced Manufacturingin Central Europe) project, funded by the Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE program. The AMiCE project tacklesthree major challenges faced by SMEs when adopting advanced manufacturing technologies: access to knowledge, promotion of investments, competitiveness of these projects.
Advanced manufacturing technologies are a key driver of competitiveness in many industries, creating opportunities for applying circular design strategies and contributingto keeping skills and jobs in central Europe. Additive manufacturingcan supportcircular design strategies by creating opportunities to extend a product's lifespan, forinstance by enabling repair or upgrades, even ifproducts were not originally designed forthis.
The training eventaims at consolidating the network and align its development to the future challenges foreseen for circular economy. It will bring together the main actors of the network and ensure the high-quality operation of their network. The event also includes presentations from relevant innovations in this field, considered as an enabler to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Agendathrough eco-design and new business models. Recognizedexperts and decision-makers will participate in the event.
During the event, different sessionswill allow to identify new challenges and opportunitiesin order to be able to tackle them within the learning and demonstration network. This includes circularsuccesses storiesin areas such as circular economy strategies, industrial symbiosis, advance manufacturing, ecodesign, etc.givingparticipants the opportunity to grow their network of circular partners.
The AMICE training event, organizedin Genova, Italy, isscheduled with the5thEdition Genova Smart Weekevent, when Genoa becomes the top showcase of the Smart Cities field, thus a perfect chance to visit the city.
