|Aim||The energy consumption of the ICT infrastructure is one that is rarely payed attention to. Moreover, this neglect is mostly found in the public sector. Also, different parts of CE region do not have access to equal technology when it comes to ICT as well as making the ICT infrastructure more energy efficient. Having that in mind, this project’s objective is to analyse current situation and develop several potential solutions based on the technical, social and user needs that will be implemented in pilot locations and become best practice examples regarding enhancement of energy efficiency in public ICT infrastructure.|
|Results||A strategy, several energy efficiency plans, pilot installations, guidelines and workshops will be developed through the course of this project to achieve the before mentioned goal. The implementation of the project will start with the gathering of the information of the current state in energy consumption of ICT infrastructure in partner countries. This will then be used as a basis to make the analysis of the users’ needs. Moreover, data on new, innovative technological solutions in EE in ICT infrastructure will also be gathered and together with the data on users need will be helpful to form a strategy on integration of users’ needs with the innovative technology. Every PP region will make an EE in ICT infrastructure plan. Based on this findings and conceptual solutions, a pilot investment in PP regions will be implemented. To round out this issue, financial solutions in implementing EE technology in ICT infrastructure will be explored and gathered in guidelines that will be made public and handed out to all of the identified interested stakeholders. Finally, a series of workshops and public events will be organised in order to acquaint the stakeholders with the problem and possible solutions. Engaging relevant stakeholders in study trips and peer reviews will be very beneficial as they will get to know different approaches to this problem in different areas of the Central Europe. This approaches they will later be able to use in enhancing energy efficiency in their own regions.|
